The Medians Are Done

Bear Canyon and Academy Acres North Neighborhood Associations’ had a dedication for the completion of the medians on Burlison and McKinney, on July 17th. Members from both neighborhood Associations attended with City Councilor Brad Winter for the ceremonies.

Councilor Winter gave out Certificates of Appreciation to three members of the Bear Canyon neighborhood. One was to the Fuhrman’s for being the winners of the June’s Beautiful Front Yard contest sponsored by the Bear Canyon N.A. Beautification Committee. Make sure you check out the contest page to see the winner’s yard. The next certificate went to Joe Delgado for his work on getting the yard signs put together for the Beautification Committee. The third certificate went to Joe Folk for his design and work of the signs in the medians.

After the awards, Councilor Winter and Bambi Folk along with Irene Minke, Academy Acres North median committee chair, and John Clemons, President for Academy Acres North, christened the Bear Canyon Sign for both Neighborhood Associations medians.

Many THANKS to all the neighbors who attend the dedication. In addition, Thanks go to Councilor Winter for using some of his set aside for the medians and to the City for allotting bond monies for the completion.
